NPI Product Engineer
For one of our trusted clients – a leading design and manufacturing company for satellite communications, we are currently searching for a NPI Product Engineer:
Responsibilities
• Lead one or more design transfer projects from the prototype phase through mass production at a local or overseas contract manufacturer.
• Set an overall Operational NPI plan, Set Ops KPIs, Track and follow project progress, manage risks, and report accordingly.
• Ensure that the voice of operations is properly captured by the organization
• Responsible for ensuring the Design for Manufacturing guidelines are well implemented in the product design and validate implementation impact on product quality.
• Drive on-time procurement and ensure material readiness for pre-production and NPI builds in close collaboration with the supply chain team
• Build product cost reduction (CR) road map – Provide technical opportunities for CR, lead the CR program from the idea stage through qualification till implementation, work closely with purchasing department to find and qualify new parts.
• ECR and ECO preparation
• Preparing and updating with R&D engineers manufacturing procedures and documents
• Transferring knowhow from R&D engineers into Service procedures and keeping documentation updated with system design changes.
• Support suppliers with documentation and design issues
• Address supply chain and supplier issues such as: second source, Obsolescence, replacement components etc.
• Design and establish electronic sub-system Test Bench and testing procedures
Requirements:
• Strong leadership skills and ability to operate effectively under work pressure.
• Experience in the logistic process.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills for interactions within and outside the company.
• Agile knowledge – a huge advantage.
• University or Practical Engineer degree in appropriate engineering discipline/ (Mechanical & Electronics is preferred).
• Knowledge of English language to a degree permitting correspondence, participation in meetings and work with technical documentation.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical NPI production manufacturing /complex mechanical assemblies/ Configuration control.
