Electrical Project Engineer (Solar Power Plant Construction)
On behalf of our trusted client, internationally recognized construction company in the renewable sector, we are currently looking for an experienced candidate to occupy the position of:
Electrical Project Engineer (Solar Power Plant Construction)
Purpose of Position:
The Electrical Project Enigineer is responsible for monitoring, supervising and reporting construction activities and compliance to the Solar Power Plant design criteria.
Main responsibilities:
• Studies and understands the Solar Power Plant project’s design provided by the engineering headquarters. Crosschecks and finds possible errors and reports to the Construction Manager.
• Developing the electrical plans and specifications for medium and high voltage cable connections, transformer stations, and substations.
• Performing electrical calculations for electrical systems.
• Ensures that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards. Establishes best practices.
• Supervises and supports subcontractor activities and compliance to the design.
• Communicates design changes and updates to the subcontractors and ensures compliance.
• Overviews each subcontractor’s installation work quality and the precision to the design.
• Monitors the stock of construction materials.
• Evaluates construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans according to experience.
• Investigates damages, accidents, or delays at the site, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
• Supports the implementation of corporate H&S procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes.
• Summarize data and report on test results.
• Participates in project auditing and reviews project documents.
• Monitor maintenance and inspection plans.
• Reports verbally daily to the Construction Manager regarding the construction progress and the materials received.
Requirements:
• University or Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience on a similar position - preferable experience in Solar Power Plant construction.
• Very good English language skills.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
• Advanced use of AutoCAD software.
• Construction experience and technical competence.
• Very good organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
