Product Manager - Agriculture

Our client is “Rapool Bulgaria” - a leading German Seed company which has successfully developed winter and spring oil seed rape varieties for 40 years and set up subsidiaries for distribution throughout Europe. Thanks to its decentralized structures in all European crop-growing areas, the company develops local know-how and invests in its local teams. An important objective is the further development of our market position by active sales and enlargement of our product portfolio with the brands SAATEN-UNION and DSV. Therefore, we are looking with an immediate effect for a key role in the Bulgarian team:
Product Manager – Agriculture
If you are an agronomist, fluent in English and passionate for agriculture, this might be your chance to step up in a real product management role! As a key figure in the team, you will be communicating daily with the international product development team as well as the management and the local sales force.
Your responsibilities:
• Support management decision making by providing product insights and up to date market information.
• Select and evaluate products for the company portfolio.
• Work closely with the international product development team to develop excellent understanding of the company portfolio and combine it with the local market specifics.
• Assume technical responsibility by providing sales management with technical data to support optimal product performance and sales.
• Assess trial results obtained from breeders, product development and sales to determine product performance and life cycle decisions.
• Marketing related deliverables: support marketing materials development and take part in company related events – seminars, open days, demo fields, etc.
Requirements:
Education and experience:
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering / Science is required.
• Specialization in the field of plant breeding is an advantage.
• English language fluency (B2/C1) is required.
• Product management experience would be an advantage.
Personality traits:
• Motivated self-starter and fast learner.
• Responsible and disciplined individual that enjoys working in a team.
• Excellent communication, respectively presentation skills.
• Person, who go ahead or with ability to “burn” other people from products/knowledge.
Others:
• Experience in the agricultural sector, preferably in the seed business.
• Driving license category “B” and willingness to travel.
