Lead Software Engineer


Our key client is a leading global manufacturer of ball bearings, seals, lubricants, mechatronics and related services. The company has more than 100 factories in 130 locations worldwide. Their products enable rotation - machinery, cars, airplane engines, even household products - anywhere there are parts that rotate, company’s solutions can be found. As the world moves swiftly into an age of digitalization, so does our client. Regarding the building of a core IT Digitalization team in Bulgaria we are looking for an experienced professional for the key role of Lead Software Engineer.
You will be responsible for establishing the DevOps practices and the Software Architecture for the manufacturing digital solutions.

Your day-to-day work and responsibilities
•    Translate business needs into software architecture requirements
•    Coordinate software architecture implementation and modification activities
•    Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring the practice development and compliance
•    Assess the performance of, and value delivered by a solution in use, or under review, and recommend removal of barriers or constraints that prevent the full realization of the value 
•    Carry out architectural design and documentation, re-using output from all other architects, joining detailed technical solutions to the overall architectural landscape, and focusing on enterprise-level digital solutions for manufacturing
•    Project planning and management, including scope, time and resource management
•    Estimate the financial impact of software architecture alternatives

We expect you to have
•    Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to contribute as a leading member of global, distributed teams focused on delivering quality services and solutions for the global SKF Manufacturing footprint
•    MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or similar
•    Microsoft or AWS Certified is advantageous
•   5+ years experience in working various positions within IT, advantageous if with IT/digital transformation projects, and in an international environment
•    Experience in enterprise or solution architecture role using relevant service and hosting solutions, advantageous if with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services technology platforms
•    2+ years in platform/product owner/architecture/development role
•    Experience in large scale design, implementation and operations 
•    In-depth, hands on experience in defining and implementing a DevOps practice
•    Experience with DevOps practice management, backlogs, CI/CD, automation and containerization technologies such as K8S, Redhat OpenShift, Terraform and relevant Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services technologies
•    Experience in software development and agile practices with multiple programming languages
•    Experience in Cloud Native Architectures, REST and APIs, Microservices, Git, Docker, K8S, SQL, NoSQL, Messaging
•    Experience in Cloud Computing, as well as Edge Computing with relevant Public Cloud IaaS and PaaS services, advantageous if with infrastructure architecture and best practices experience
•    Broad technical understanding & hands on implementation experience in software development techniques, processes, methods and best practices
•    Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing
